How is Koolshade made?
Koolshade Screen
The Koolshade Solar Screen cloth is made from durable bronze alloys and has a powder coated polyester finish. The Koolshade screens will therefore never rust. Screens installed in 1960 are still working perfectly today.
Koolshade Frames
The Koolshade frames are made from aluminium and can be finished to the architect's specification. They can be cut to make a frame of any shape and are available in over 200 colours.
Accessories
The installation systems are typically stainless steel and coated with a rust preventative so as to provide a long life of performance. The components are all designed and engineered to fit together as a system and are professionally applied to your building for a professional appearance and performance.
Construction
- KoolShade screens are constructed by inserting the woven bronze louvre cloth into the specifically designed aluminium extrusions.
- The Koolshade cloth is held in place within the horizontal framing section by means of a custom designed stainless steel lacer wire.
- A solid aluminium corner key is inserted and concealed at the corner of the perimeter frame for support and rigidity.
- As the KoolShade unit is assembled, the vertical sections of the frame are used to manipulate the taughtness of the woven bronze louvers.
- Finally, a vinyl wedge is pressed into the inner edges of the vertical frames to totally secure the cloth within the extruded frame.
